An India visa for tourist purposes allows you to visit India on a holiday for upto 6 months. The India tourist visas can be either a single, double or multiple entry visa, and allow you to visit any state within India. Please note that if you are planning to visit either Sikkim or the Andoman Island, then you will require an additional permit which can either be obtained here from the India VFS centres in London or elsewhere, or on arrival, e.g. at port blair. Unfortunately the standard India visa will not cover his. Note that India tourist visa holders are not allowed to stay beyond their permitted limit. This with also does not allow you to work in India either.
What we need from you
Please ensure that your signature on the application matches that on your passport to avoid any processing delay
- Passport valid for at least 190 days with at least 3 blank pages inside.
- Two recent 50mm x 50mm size photographs with light background.
- Completed and signed Indian tourist visa online application form.
- For non British citizens additional proof of address is required. The proof of address can be any utility bill.
We require one current proof of address as well as a two year old proof of address (total two proofs of address) - For a 5 year visa you will need your parents INDIAN passports well as applicants birth certificate.
